Delta Pines 03:51
Rolled into Vicksburg Crossed that Mississippi state Them bright lights by the river done tore My body from my pay Rolled out in the morning Went by Willie Dixon Way The southern roads kept winding The nights bled into days Indianola where you, been so long I seen Patton's bones I made Church Street home Heard the King sing the final song Need fuel in the evening The Blue Biscuit's just the thing It was quiet on the highway Yeah I'm riding for the King Hello Helena You're sure, looking fine I came rolling down the row and somebody said King Biscuit Time Friars Point was calling Yeah where Johnson sang his song The red eye drive got hazy I can't remember right from wrong Come up on Clarksdale It's just gone ninety six I got some hot tamales Seen where they laid out Bessie Smith At night I hung off reefer Watching Leo burn up Reds The delta pines are calling Listen what Muddy Waters said

about

“Delta Pines,” the first release by Australian bluesman Ivor S.K., is the product of a musical culmination leading back to where the blues began; an acoustic guitar and heartfelt vocals. Recorded in a rough-hewn, sparse soundscape that recalls the halcyon days of the pre-war blues masters, it contains five original, prime cuts of deep blues dripping with a starkly southern soul. From haunting, melancholy melodies to country infused boogie, through to dark twisted humour and soaring bottle neck brilliance, Delta Pines is a collection of compositions that creates a truly tangible atmosphere.
